DATELINE: January, 2008
TO: Lippa Lovers everywhere

2007 is over and here's the recap:


  1. January: Conducted at the Metropolitan Opera House for Kristin Chenoweth. Wow.

  2. January: Wrote the score to Aaron Sorkin's The Farnsworth Invention at La Jolla playhouse.

  3. February-April: Wrote the first act for
    The Man In The Ceiling

  4. May: slept

  5. June: lost my dad to cancer. Still sad.

  6. July-September: Continued work on "The Man In The Ceiling"

  7. October: Went to Budapest and recorded
    A Little Princess (released in June of '08.)

  8. November: Opened "The Farnsworth Invention" on Broadway!! (well, the original opening was supposed to be in November. Stupid strike…)

  9. December: Finishing the first draft of "The Man In The Ceiling"

  10. Other stuff in 2007: Wrote a new "Wonder Pets" episode, proofed my first G. Schirmer choral publication "Hope" for SSA choir, readied "Live Out Loud" in two keys and 3 different choral arrangements (I swear they will be up at www.sheetmusicdirect.com soon!), went to Spain, wrote songs for two TV shows that didn't make it (rats…), and began work on The Addams Family.

What's up for 2008?

  1. January-April: Write "The Addams Family"!

  2. February: Reading of "The Man In The Ceiling" with full cast!

  3. May: sleep

  4. June: top secret. Details to follow…

  5. July-December: develop "The Man In The Ceiling" and "The Addams Family" and make time for swimming in the lake!
